CAIRO - 6 April 2026: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments and efforts to reduce military escalation during separate phone calls with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on Monday.
Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts with regional and international partners to prevent the region from sliding into "comprehensive chaos."
He stressed the necessity of maintaining diplomatic paths to contain the situation and highlighted the severe economic repercussions of continued instability. The war has been ongoing wide Feb. 28.
In a Monday statement, the Foreign Ministry noted that both the German and Canadian ministers expressed appreciation for the "sincere efforts" made by Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan to prioritize diplomatic solutions.
The ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation to support regional security and stability.
